Thank you for your interest in the Advocate General Surgery Residency Program.
Our residents experience a large volume of a wide breadth of general surgery and specialty cases across diverse patient populations and have ample opportunity to develop leadership skills in different clinical settings.
We have a collaborative educational program that includes the SCORE curriculum, M&M, simulation labs, mock oral exams, ABSITE review, professional development, radiology conference, journal club, and research presentations. There is also an optional, fully-funded research year available.
In addition to excellent clinical experience and robust didactics, our program understands the need for holistic support of our trainees. We foster community and well-being through institutional resources, GME policies, mentorship, feedback sessions, wellness activities, and family events.
Our mission at the Advocate General Surgery Residency Program is to train a diverse group of residents to become accomplished clinicians, skilled surgeons, and ethical leaders in surgery. We believe our graduates will have the confidence & competence to directly enter practice or succeed in post-graduate fellowships.
